The Auld Reekie Tiki Bar
Edinburgh, United Kingdom (Closed)
This tiki bar was opened in June 2017 by Ian McCol, the force behind the Tiki Bar and Kitsch Inn (see the similarity in logos). It was opened a couple of years after a Lola Lo's tiki bar closed at this same location. Lola Lo's was run as more of a nightclub and this incarnation made use of the space for more of a restaurant and bar atmosphere. However, the Auld Reekie Tiki Bar only lasted a year or so before closing and being converted into an Irish pub, Kitty O'Shea's.
Ula Ula Tiki Room
Saint Francis, Wisconsin, United States
This small Milwaukee tiki bar opened above Redbar, located at 2245 E. St. Francis Ave.
The lounge, whose name fittingly means "red" in Hawaiian, will only open on weekends – kind of like a pop-up bar in a permanent space.
Lee Guk, who was the proprietor of Tiki Joe's in Walker's Point, will operate the lounge, along with Carrie Wisnewski and Nick Schell, who own the building and Redbar.
"We had a very under-utilized space (on the second floor) and this seems like a perfect way to showcase it," says Wisnewski.
Friday-Saturday nights 6-12am
Cash only!

The South Seas Tiki Lounge - Charleston
Charleston, South Carolina, United States (Closed)
The South Seas Tiki Lounge was a tiki bar in Charleston, South Carolina, opened in July 2017.
The small space had outdoor seating, with an interior lounge. The menu included tropical drinks and small plates.
Owner Jonathan Buckley (owner of the nearby Scarecrow & Co.) is a longtime tikiphile with a large tiki mug collection that was displayed in the bar.
They received rave reviews for their cocktail program and seemed to be doing vey well. However, on January 3, 2019, South Seas posted on Instagram that they were closing up their Ann Street spot, which included both the tiki lounge and sushi bar.
Their IG caption read, “Thanks Charleston, it’s time to wrap things up here and move our Tiki Collection to a New City."
Buckley later stated that the section of the building they were in was always defined as a space for semi-permanent pop-ups and that the plan was always to eventually close down and move to a new location outside of Charleston.
High Roller Tiki Lounge - Copenhagen Drive - Solvang
Solvang, California, United States (Closed)
Established in 2016, High Roller Tiki Lounge was a tiki bar within Sort This Out Cellars' tasting room in downtown Solvang, California. All of the drinks served were variations on tropical drinks, using wine as the base instead of rum or other hard liquor. The space was thoroughly decorated with lauhala and tiki tchotchkes, and souvenir mugs were available.
Solvang was founded by a group of Danes who traveled west to establish a Danish community far from Midwestern winters. The city is home to a number of bakeries, restaurants, and merchants offering a taste of Denmark in California. The architecture of many of the façades and buildings reflects traditional Danish style. Additionally, since Solvang is in the heart of wine country, you can easily visit up to 20 different wine tasting rooms within walking distance of Sort This Out Cellars, so remember to pace yourself!
*NOTE: During July of 2020, High Roller re-located from 1636 Copenhagen Drive to 433 Alisal Rd. The new space features a large built-out performance area for live music - Club 433 - just off the patio and feet from the main bar.
The Tilted Tiki
Stillwater, Minnesota, United States
The Tilted Tiki was opened in November 2016 by Chris and Patti Goetzke in downtown Stillwater, Minnesota, just east of Minneapolis -- in the historic Grand Garage building.

It was originally The Chicago House, then occupied by Stillwater Motor Company and converted to its current use in 1970. A number of different shops, restaurants, and even a salon, call the Grand Garage home.
Its location in the Grand Garage makes the Tilted Tiki's decor an unusual blend of tropical thatching and lauhala and more traditional wooden trim and stained glass accents.
They serve a selection of tropical drinks, and small plates of food.
