The Glutton - by Flounder - for Tiki Farm

This is a mug shaped like a sitting drunk tiki holding two bottles of booze and with wagging tongue and large round X-ed over eyeballs.

    From Tiki Farm/Holden:

"We proudly present you with our newest and perhaps one of our most unusual designs to-date with long time Tiki Farm contributing artist... Scott 'Flounder' Scheidly... 'The Glutton'!

I reached out to Scott to get some input for this promotional text and in classic Flounder-style, Scott replied 'Just let ‘em know it’s a self-portrait.' That, ladies and gentlemen, is a perfect example of why I enjoy working so much with Scott. He throws me off-cuff reminders all the time, reminding me not to take the whole Tiki mug scene so seriously and just to keep doing what I love!

As you will note here with The Glutton, he is an absolute fan of his libations! He comes at you with a double-fisted attitude, tongue wagging and X-eyed as a result of his debaucherous ways! As a result of his debauchery, The Glutton is a bit 'green-in-the-face' and then some! But, he’s ready for you and more than capable and really excited about your intended use for him. The Glutton is a huge fan of rum-soaked crafted cocktails, though his appearance might appear more like a Fireball is in order! Don’t let him fool you. Buy him and find out for yourself!

Artist: Flounder Original release year: 2022 Capacity: 22 oz. Material: Ceramic stoneware Height: 6 3/8 inches"

Trader Vic's Kneeling Hula Girl Bowl Large Modern Made In Thailand a.k.a. Trader Vic's Scorpion Bowl Modern Made In Thailand, Trader Vic's Scorpion Bowl 2015

This bowl was used by Trader Vic's, and is full of the familiar scenery of lounging men, rum barrels and hula girls as seen on other Trader Vic's items. Three kneeling girls, holding uli uli, support the bowl, the girls have their knees out and are molded separately. Each girl has a fan of leaves printed on the bowl directly behind her. Bowl is white with details painted in many colors. This newer version has crisper graphics on the sides that appear to be printed heat decal graphics, not hand-painted. The faces and figures of the kneeling hula girls are slightly thinner than older versions (albeit similar to the Made In Mexico 2012 version). Unlike the Made in Mexico 2012 version, the bottom molded support lines from the three surrounding hula girls does not extend toward the center. Seen from interior, there are indentions where each of the kneeling girls are connected (not so in the Made In Mexico 2012 version). Bottom is marked "Trader Vic's ® Scorpion Bowl 2015" molded in recessed letters and there is a "Made In Thailand" sticker as well. Measures 3 3/8" high, 7.5" across at rim, 9.5" from tip of knees to opposite side at farthest point on belly of the bowl.

Beachbum Berry Metal Swizzle Cup a.k.a. 151 Swizzle Cup

Donn Beach's 151 Swizzle used an electric blender to mimic the centuries-old West Indian technique of churning drinks with a spoked twig whittled into a “swizzle stick.” Ernest served his swizzles in a specially made metal Swizzle Cup -- a sleeker, sexier version of the traditional silver Mint Julep Cup. Just as they copied the Beachcomber’s drinks, rival Tiki restaurateurs copied his signature serve. By the 1950s metal Swizzle Cups frothed with exotic cocktails from coast to coast. Expensive to make -- and to replace when customers ran off with them -- these cups disappeared from Tiki bars by the 1980s, replaced by standard Collins glasses. Cocktail Kingdom has brought back the long-lost Swizzle Cup of Tiki’s past, with this updated version made of light-weight stainless steel.

This mug depicts H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu (pronounced: "kuh-THOO-loo"). Cthulhu made his first official appearance in the short story "The Call of Cthulhu," written by Lovecraft in 1926, although no living character in the story ever sets eyes on the actual creature. The characters we meet in the story see Cthulhu either in dreams or in artwork. The narrator of the story says that a statue of Cthulhu resembled, in part, an octopus, a dragon and a human-like or anthropomorphic creature. This mug was released by MONDO in 4 glaze variations and was manufactured for them by Tiki Farm and designed by renowned artist, William Stout. This glaze variation is the unrestricted regular version in wiped teal. All 4 were released on 03/13/2018.

    Pat O'Brien's Hurricane Glass

This is a hurricane glass from Pat O'Brien's in New Orleans, LA. It is a clear glass with green lettering and designs inspired by the wrought iron on display in the French Quarter. The glass is pictured in Beachbum Berry's Remixed, with information on its history, on pages 56-57. At the end of prohibition in 1933, Pat O'Brien converted his speakeasy to a legitimate drinking establishment in the 600 block of St. Peter Street. In the mid 1940's, Pat O'Brien's Bar propelled when the Hurricane Drink was created. At that time, there was short supply of liquor such as whiskey, bourbon and scotch. There was, however, access to rum coming up the river. Bar owners were forced to buy large quantities of rum, 50 cases or so, in order to purchase other liquor. Through trial and error, they came up with a drink that everyone loved! Pat O'Brien paired it up with a glass shaped like a Hurricane lamp and the drink was perfected!

The Witch Doctor - Blue Stain With Dark Blue Wash - by Derek Yaniger - for Tiki Farm

This mug is shaped like the head of a cartoonish cross-eyed witch doctor with a bone through his nose and a horned doctor's hat that looks inspired by The Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes from The Flintstones.

    From Tiki Farm:

"The Doctor is IN! Tiki Farm proudly introduces our newest experiment…'The Witch Doctor' designed for us by long-time Tiki Farm contributing artist, Derek Yaniger!

At first glance, it seems like just another fun lovin’ tiki mug from Derek and your friends at Tiki Farm, but BEWARE! Legend has it that the evil spirit of The Witch Doctor inhabits every single mug.

Use caution when mixing potions, creating hexes, and casting spells at your next Tiki gathering, for only the finest mixers and elixirs will appease the angry spirit of The Witch Doctor! Failure to do so could result in some seriously bad mojo! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Fill the good Doctor up with a nicely crafted cocktail and you will be REWARDED!

On the reverse of our Witch Doctor, you’ll discover a secret voodoo symbol. Teams of archeologists have tried to decipher its meaning, but all have failed. Is it a long-lost Zombie cocktail recipe so powerful that it could change the world forever?!? Perhaps an ancient incantation that if spoken aloud would unlock all the mysteries of the most delicious Mai-tai?!? What is the true meaning of the secret voodoo symbol? Only The Witch Doctor knows!!"

2018 Port Light Ceramic Gold Rim Modern a.k.a. Trader Vic's Mariner Tumbler

This ceramic red hiball with gold painted details was made in Thailand for Trader Vic's. It is a later version of the glass Port Light hiball. An earlier version of this ceramic design with gold details was made by Imperial Imports in 1979. They also made a version with a black rim, rather than gold. Trader Vic's also used a companion glass, a green Starboard Light Glass, and there is a modern version of that design as well.

Another earlier version has a black rim, rather than gold. Trader Vic's also used a companion glass, a red Port Light Glass. This aquamarine glass with gold painted details was made by Imperial Glass Company. Morgantown Glass Company was occasionally contracted by Imperial Glass to produce these if their production line was at capacity. Trader Vic's used a green Starboard Light Glass as well as a companion glass, a red Port Light Glass. This aquamarine glass is under contention. Some claim it is simply a variant of the green Starboard Light Glass used at Trader Vic's. Others contend it is, indeed, the version used at the Kahiki (and the aquamarine coloration in menu illustrations seems to support this).

This is the Ten Pin Pilsner Glass that was used by Trader Vic's for the "Potted Parrot", "Shingle Stain" and other drinks. Can be found in Trader Vic's Bartender's Guide Revised Edition (1972). The black footed versions were older, and The Kahiki could only source clear ones in the mid to late 70s. The Imperial Glass catalogue number for these is #846 and also pictures a covered snack container shaped like a black bowling ball to accompany them (#857)
