Gray wiped at top of mug, fades to black at bottom of mug (skull pile).

One of six glaze test Givers by Michael; mug is labeled "Test Glaze ( c )" on the bottom. This mug is on of the few with a red tongue. Mug run was 40 orange, 20 red, 15 super carved one-offs, and 6 test glazes.

Primary colors are yellow, red and white. Tongue is red.

Had this for a drink at Archipelago with mom who got it for us the next Christmas

We had these made for the guests to our third anniversary party held at the Tonga Room in San Francisco. Only 20 were made, we have 4 of them one went to our waiter at the Tonga Room and the rest to our guests. This is a mug made with an original Johnny Sens style mold.

First saw at Hula’s Island Grill in Monterey, CA. Took a while to find one

Distinguishing Characteristics

This glaze is very speckled and not what I think of as the typical yellow and rust Spurlin glaze but I have seen other examples with this same glaze.
