Tiki Mug Design

Cthulhu Tiki Mug - by Kachaktano Mugs

in 5 collections

A mug shaped like a slightly tikified version of Cthulhu with an octopus head and bat wings. Made of porcelain. Cthulhu is holding a ship in his hands and has skull decorations on his forehead and in his mouth tentacles. This mug is done with a wipe-away effect leaving the mug mostly white with an aged appearance and some color embellishment with red eyes. Other mug in this series feature a red-eyed Frankenstein, a zombie holding a brain, and a psychotic looking clown. Cthulhu made his first official appearance in the short story "The Call of Cthulhu," written by Lovecraft in 1926, although no living character in the story ever sets eyes on the actual creature. The characters we meet in the story see Cthulhu either in dreams or in artwork. The narrator of the story says that a statue of Cthulhu resembled, in part, an octopus, a dragon and a human-like or anthropomorphic creature.
