Tiki Bars
Mahiki Beach
Marbella, Spain (Closed)
Opened in June 2017.
Situated on the famous beach paseo of Marbella, Mahiki Beach offered a unique beach club experience with its tropical restaurant, original cocktails and luxurious beach beds – all designed in a Tiki inspired theme.
In addition to this former Mahiki Beach location, there were several other Mahiki locations but they have all closed apparently, including the original London and the Manchester locations (both closed), one in Dubai (now closed), Arab Emirates (now closed), one in the Forte Village Resort in Sardinia (now closed), and a second London location (Mahiki Kensington, closed in 2019). There was also a Mahiki club in Gothenburg, Sweden (closed).
As of @2021 this locale re-opened as John Scott's Beach.
Lola Lo - Cambridge
Cambridge, United Kingdom (Closed)
Opened May 25th, 2011.
This location was a dance club with themed parties 5 nights a week, decked out in hand-carved wood with Tiki booths. It was one of several in a chain of Lola Lo bar/restaurants (including Bristol, Cambridge, Manchester, and Reading) with only Bristol and Reading remaining after late 2024.
September 5th, 2024, the Lola Lo bar announced a change of ownership and that they would be named "Kiki's" going forward (presumably keeping the same Tiki/Hawaiian theme).
The Bamboo Room - Savannah
Savannah, Georgia, United States
Attempted to open March 13, 2020 just as the COVID shutdowns started sweeping the country. The grand opening was scuttled until late May 27, 2020, but the wait was worth it when tikiphiles began flocking to this immaculate space.
Website Description:
"For those who are seeking a tropical escape in Historic Savannah, look no further than The Bamboo Room Tiki Bar above Sorry Charlie's. Your worries melt away as you enter. When visiting our little oasis, expect to be transported to a den of exotica where you will enjoy delicious tiki cocktails, frozen drinks, island-inspired snacks, friendly people and funky vibes.
The Bamboo Room is an immersive, exotic tropical hideaway nestled in the heart of Downtown Savannah. The Bamboo Club
Long Beach, California, United States
Opened Friday, March 8th, 2019.
Long Beach’s only 7 days a week Tiki bar! Interior design by Bamboo Ben. Fantastic wall murals by Big Toe and Ken Ruzic. In addition to the outstanding cocktails, they also have a very good in-house menu. Last but not least, they occasionally play host to the Hardcore Tiki Marketplace on the weekend, with tons of great tiki vendors.
Happy Hour Monday-Friday 3PM - 7PM.
Aloha Bar at the House of Foong Lin
Chevy Chase, Maryland, United States
The Aloha Bar at the House of Foong Lin is a great example of a "community" tiki bar. Chef Fu generously allowed the local VA/MD/DC Tiki community to transform his strip-mall style chinese restaurant into a complete tiki bar (Summer of 2018). With a new custom tiki drink menu lead and curated by Jeff Westlake, and combined with the outstanding chinese food that Mr. Fu has always served, Tiki Thirstdays are an excellent weekly gathering of local Ohana in a home they built for themselves. Not required, but if you show up without an Aloha shirt, there's a whole wall of clean loaners available to join in the fun.
The Lost Island Room
Washington, District of Columbia, United States (Closed)
This was the speakeasy style tiki bar hidden behind the already excellent Archipelago DC tiki bar. Lost Island aimed to recreate a much more traditional Tiki escape from the city outside. Quiet, dark, completely removed from the U Street nightlife, the Lost Island had its own custom menu of classic and modern tiki drinks. A small bar area was separated from table seating. Access was by reservation only.
The Lost Island was temporarily closed during the pandemic, but never reopened. With the closing of parent bar Archipelago on 08/26/2023, the Lost Island is permanently closed.
The Hidden Idol
Denver, Colorado, United States (Closed)
The Hidden Idol was a small tiki bar, that had been a favorite on the craft-cocktail scene, as well as with the Denver Tiki Tribe subculture. It opened as an intimate space on East Colfax Avenue (above the now-closed Southside Bar + Kitchen) in February 2017 before moving to a larger space in Jefferson Park in June 2019. Due to the Covid shutdown, this bar was forced to announce a permanent closing as of Sunday, June 28, 2020.

Trader Sam's Grog Grotto
Orlando, Florida, United States
Trader Sam's Grog Grotto opened at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort in 2015. It is the sister of Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar, found at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, California. Like the bar in Anaheim, the Grog Grotto is a twin tribute to both the Enchanted Tiki Room and Jungle Cruise attractions. It is densely decorated and intensely themed, just as you would hope to find in a Disney tiki bar.
Like the Jungle Cruise, the crew members at the Grog Grotto are trained to give you a theatrical, goofy, fun experience. Some drink orders trigger special effects around the room (order a Polynesian Pearl and watch your bartender retrieve your pearl from a large clamshell), and several drinks are served in souvenir mugs. The decor is a mix of tiki and nautical, with some nods to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and also includes pieces left over from the old Adventurer's Club that used to be part of Downtown Disney in Orlando. The menu is limited, with several small plates. There is also outdoor seating at the adjacent, relatively lightly-themed Tiki Terrace.
The Grog Grotto was added as part of a big refresh of the Polynesian Village Resort in 2015.
Children are welcome at the Grog Grotto during the day, but after 8pm it is only open to those 21 and older.
Restaurant en Coulisse
Chessy, France
Opened March 16th, 2002.
Restaurant en Coulisse is a massive fast food restaurant within the Walt Disney Studios Park at the Disneyland Paris Resort. The restaurant is themed with facades of Hollywood restaurants both made-up and real, including the fictional "Liki Tiki" -- complete with A-frame and decor from Oceanic Arts.
Lots of burgers on the menu. No cocktails. Just beer and a wide assortment of sodas and other beverages.
