Opened in December 2018. Tiki TNT is the side-bar attached to the Potomac Distilling company at the Washington D.C. Wharf complex.

3 levels of seating for over 250 people. The decor is more modern island vibe than dark and forbidding classic tiki lounge -- with extremely high ceilings painted a light blue, pink walls, plate-glass windows, and bright Edison bulbs hanging over the central bar.

There are several tiki drinks, both classic and new, along with some food options on the menu. Potomac Distilling Company is Todd Thrasher's rum distillery, and the rum is available for purchase.

Test Pilot is a "tiki-inspired" craft cocktail bar in Santa Barbara. It opened in September 2016.

The decor is tiki-lite, with just a few tiki masks on one wall. The walls are painted turquoise, and there is a light beachy feel to the space.

The drinks, some served in tiki mugs, are modified versions of tiki cocktails, and some originals.

They have an excellent selection of rums and a strong bar program.

Bali Hai Supper Club was a Polynesian restaurant in Maplewood, Minnesota, an eastern suburb of St. Paul. The nondescript exterior had simple large letters reading "BALI HAI," but inside the tropical escape included two nightly Polynesian dance floor shows, a giant clamshell waterfall, a bridge over a pond, palm trees, tiki masks, pufferfish and beachcomber lamps, and flaming dishes prepared tableside. It operated from 1976 until it closed in 2000, and the building was subsequently demolished.

Cat Eye Club was a small bar and restaurant with a lightly-applied mid-century and tiki theme. It opened in 2013 as more of a "Mad Men" mid-century bar, but shifted to tiki in 2016.

There was a menu of tropical and classic tiki cocktails, many served in tiki mugs, and a small food menu (food came from the kitchen of the attached Blind Burro Restaurant).

The decor was more tropical-lite than tiki, with a few tiki masks on a wall, and palm frond wallpaper on another.

Closed September 28th, 2018 to make room for a Blind Burro expansion.

The Love Shack opened at the end of June 2017 in the Walker's Point neighborhood of Milwaukee, in a location previously held by Wine Maniacs. It was owned by Michael Sorge, Wes Shaver, and Gary LaCourt. The name was inspired by the song by the B-52s; the owners hoped to capture the energy of the song in the space. It was advertised as a "tiki bar" but there were few recognizable tiki elements in the design of the space. There was a large riverside patio, and the decor was mostly plain, "modern" design with a few bold tropical elements (including tiki head graphics). A small selection of traditional tiki drinks was offered alongside newer creations, and the food menu was high-end Polynesian-inspired fare.

Closed August 3rd, 2018.

As of 2021, now home to Elle Studio & Wellness, a holistic health center.

Tiki Bar Tokyo was a small, 38-seat bar and restaurant in the Marunouchi area of Chiyoda-ku in Tokyo, Japan. The space was simply decorated, with painted palm fronds on one wall and thatch above the bar. The menu of tropical drinks included Mojitos and Caipirinhas, but also a Mai-Tai and some original tropical drinks.

Closed in 2017.

Open since at least 2012, if not earlier.

Restaurant Waikiki is in the Yonamoto area of Yachiyo in Chiba prefecture. Two large tikis flank the entrance.

Der Blume von Hawaii (The Flower of Hawaii) was originally opened in downtown Nuremberg in 2014 at Rosental 15 by Zack Stingl, a longtime Exotica and Hawaiian music lover who became obsessed with tropical drinks, especially through the work of Beachbum Berry. His small bar payed tribute to both.

Then, in Fall 2019, the bar moved to this larger new location at 16 Weinmarkt.

Super Power was opened in June 2016 in Brooklyn, New York by the team behind Prospect Heights’ the Bearded Lady, as well as two other friends.

There were definitely similarities between the two locations -- right down to the bar stools which were identical, except the ones at The Bearded Lady were yellow.

In developing out their drinks menu, Super Power kept their audience in mind and wanted to skew to a younger crowd and make everything approachable and not too stuffy. No overly laborious mixology classics. Just fun riffs on a theme.

The small bar had some nods to tiki history in the form of framed art, but the overall look of the lightly-furnished space was a neon-lit '80s workout video.

There was a pleasant patio out back, with plenty of seating, ringed with tropical plants.

In addition to their small menu of tropical drinks, there was a small selection of food as well.

TikiCat was a tiki bar in Kansas City, Missouri, it opened on April 13, 2017 and closed in July 2020. The bar was part of the HopCat group, a chain of beer-focused pubs around the midwest. The focus here was on pure tiki, not beer, and the group enlisted the help of a number of noted specialists and artists: the buildout was by Bamboo Ben; Martin Cate helped with the cocktail program; there were carvings by Dave Hansen (Lake Tiki), Patrick Sousa (OB Tiki), Ken Pleasant, and Jason Joffe (Smokin' Tikis); tiki mug and menu design (and awesome sci-fi themed mural) by Anthony Carpenter; lamps by Jason Shelfow (Tiki J's Custom Lamps); and art by Thor Thordarson.

There was a vintage Witco bar and stools, and vintage furniture for seating. There were some intimate hut areas for groups, and table seating. The space was richly decorated, with carvings, art, bamboo, thatch, matting, and faux foliage throughout.

HopCat and TikiCat (which was located in the basement of HopCat), both shut down after being unable to come to an agreement with their landlord. HopCat hopes to re-open at a new venue in the near future.

Snowbird Tiki Bar opened on April 7, 2017, in Montreal's Little Italy, in the space that used to hold Cafe International.

It closed in late 2018, but re-opened in what had previously been known as Idole Bar.

The new space has stone, brick, and some green-painted walls, with float lights, and lots of vintage pieces in the decor. The bar incorporates some elements from the now-closed Jardin Tiki, including tables and chairs that were originally at the Kon-Tiki in Montreal. There is a large tiki that came from somewhere in Ontario.

They continue to add more and more to their decor, including a number of vintage hanging lamps over the bar.

There is also outside seating.

The Inferno Room opened September 11, 2018 in the Fountain Square neighborhood of Indianapolis, in a building that previously held a Marion County courthouse. This is the creation of longtime tiki devotee Ed Rudisell, in partnership with his wife Sasatorn Rudisell and Chris Coy. The trio have a number of successful restaurants in the Indianapolis area. Rudisell aims to bring his passion for authentic mid-century Tiki to the city.

The drink menu and food menu pay strong tribute to classic Polynesian restaurant menus, executed with quality in mind. Youll find classics from Don the Beachcomber, Trader Vic, and Indianas own Stephen Crane alongside contemporary tiki concoctions from their own Infernal Tribe.

The decor plays to the sense of danger and mystery in tiki, with a particular emphasis on fire. Rudisell took his time with the build-out, to ensure he could bring together the immersive space he desired.

Papua New Guinea artwork is especially featured, with many vintage and many newer pieces on display. Milwaukee artist Dave Hansen of Lake Tiki Woodcrafts (also known as Lake Surfer) hand-carved much of the new art, including the giant PNG mask overlooking the first floor.
