Welcome to the mytiki.life v2 beta.

This is a work in progress and there may be some bugs.

If you find any issues or have feedback send me an email: [email protected].

This was my second visit to SOS. The first was in 2019, I think. It's a smaller place, but the wait for an inside table wasn't too long for a Friday evening. I asked about a signature cocktail recommendation because I wanted something local and original, but the answer came back "the zombie and the mai tai are the most popular" which was strange, as they have the SOS Grog and the A-Ti-L Punch. :D I had both the Zombie and SOS Grog and they were tasty - but they have similar ingredients so they taste very similar. I rounded out my visit with The Goof, which is NOT the same as the Goof Punch as served at the Bali Hai. It has Jamaican rum, Nixta, and coffee and I liked it much more than I expected. I also had sips of the Pirate Republic (peppery!!) and the A-Ti-L Punch (an Agricole cocktail). The SOS isn't watering down drinks, nor are they batching drinks, and I appreciate that. I have to point out that the SOS can be loud. It's a small room with loud music and a lot of hard surfaces. Everyone is talking loudly to be heard, so it's hard to carry on a conversation.

Tiki Bar

The S.O.S.

Decatur, Georgia, United States

The S.O.S. opened on November 5, 2015, in a space that had previously held Paper Plane. Like its predecessor, it is a sister to the neighboring Victory restaurant. The look of the small space is upscale tropical, with dim lights providing the bulk of the mood, and an assist from a few small hula girl lamps and strategically placed orchids. The emphasis here is on the drinks: a full menu of classics and originals. Many drinks on the menu are offered in scaled-up versions for sharing. There is a small menu of tiki-appropriate food available, like spare ribs and coconut shrimp.
