Coco Joe's Volcano Mug

in 2 collections

This unusual mug has long been attributed to Coco Joe's, more famous for their lava and resin tourist tiki pieces. More recently, some have claimed that this mug was issued by a bar in the Pacific Northwest (which is more plausible since Coco Joe's in Hawaii was not known for ceramics but for resin products). This mug is shaped like a volcano, with a handle on the side. Glaze is a sort of gray-brown, and there's a red-orange glazed interior with black speckles. Red translucent glaze is dribbled down the sides. There is a small pocket on the inside near the rim, to hold a bit of 151 rum to light the volcano. Marked "Coco Joe's" in recessed letters on the front.
