This is a one off mug made by Eric October as 1st prize in a Kon Tiki model building contest. A celebration to commerate the 70th Anniversary of the Kon Tiki voyage was held at the Tonga Hut in North Hollywood on Sunday, July 30, 2017.

Kon Tiki 70th Anniversary Book Mug

This is a hand-built mug sculpted to look like the hardback version of Thor Heyerdahl's book, Kon-Tiki. The front has the signature Tiki face logo that was emblazoned on the sail of his famous raft. The mug is approximately 6.5" tall x 4.75" wide x 2.5" deep. Eric made a similar design in 2011 but this version was made as 1st prize in a Kon Tiki model building contest. A celebration to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Kon Tiki voyage was held at the Tonga Hut in North Hollywood on Sunday, July 30, 2017.
