    Yipwon Warrior Blue/Brown

This blue mug with brown accents is inspired by Papua New Guinea Yipwon spirit figures. The Yipwon is an abstract representation of the human figure that is made by the Yimam cultures of Papua New Guinea. The figure consists of several parts with the form of a bird. This mug features a tucked-in and modified, low-hanging "pompadour" inspired direction. The next part is a human male face, a long narrow nose, and a mouth puckered as if whistling. A protruding ridge runs from the top of the head and continues down to the chin, apparently indicating a beard. Oral stories from the Yimam culture state that this figure represents the hunting spirit in human form. A gold limited edition version and an open edition silver version of this design were released and sold out in 2018. This blue/brown version was released alongside a robin's egg/tan version in 2019.

Inspired by a Barney West tiki that used to grace Southgate mall in Sacramento, CA, this mug was produced by Tiki Diablo, and contains a detailed, multi colored glaze. Commissioned by 'TikiLibrarian', the original sculpt was emasculated (like the Southgate Tiki it was based on). However, encouragement from online tiki groups led to Tiki Diablo restoring the phallus to the mug.

Tumuaki - Brown - by Benzart for Tiki Farm

This mug is shaped like a man's head with Maori moko tattooing design. Issued in a green or a brown glaze.

    Tiki Farm describes this mug:

"I know Tiki pretty darned well. The 'Papa', the 'Godfather' the most revered carver in Tiki is Ben 'Benzart' Davis. My 75-year old, long-time friend means the world to me. I speak with Ben often, but not often enough. Tiki Farm is launching the new 'Tumuaki', a traditional Maori design created by Maori-trained sculptor Benzart and turned into a Tiki mug by Tiki Farm. The significance of this piece in any true Tiki collection is important in my opinion. I am grateful to have this relationship with Ben and I am very proud of Tumuaki! It is 100% Tiki. It is not a lowbrow design, it is not a skull, a monkey, a zombie or a shrunken head. I love all of those aesthetics, but at our roots at Tiki Farm are some very traditional Tiki-inspired designs. Such is the case with Tumuaki.

Glazed in a traditional 'tiki brown' glaze, Tumuaki is impressive!"

You probably remember Tank’s super popular 'VooDude' mug which sold out very quickly. Do not miss your chance to get your hands on Tank’s newest creation shown here in a glaze variation we’ve named 'Mardi Gras Green'. Peek around the design and you’ll see fun added elements such as skulls, flickering Tiki torches, a jug of hooch, a little stuffed animal, dripping candles, and… who do you spy on the back mantle… is it… yes it is… it’s VOODUDE!

Each Voodoo Goddess in Mardi Gras Green comes with two 30” classic Mardi Gras beaded necklaces with each necklace having beads in purple, gold, and green (official Mardi Gras colors). Now is there a better drink vessel than our Mardi Gras green Voodoo Goddess for this year’s celebration of this world-renowned event? Nothing comes to mind on our end!"

This is decanter shaped like a female tiki and with a cork topper shaped like a flame.

He published a photograph of this particular tiki in the Book of Tiki, page 187. He and Tiki Farm are delighted to offer this open edition for everyone to enjoy. It measures 14 1/4 inches to the tip-top of its red flame topper. Sven describes this piece being an 'object of desire' and a highly-stylized mid-century Tiki art at its best!"

Pau Meli - Avocado with Orange Interior - by SHAG - for Max's South Seas Hideaway

    From Max's website:

"This mug was designed by California artist Shag. It’s based on an Andres Bumatay carving that can be found inside Max’s South Seas. The carving’s original home was the Village Apartments, Playa del Rey, CA, a Polynesian-themed apartment complex. Luckily, it was salvaged by collector Jordan Reichek when the apartment complex was torn down.

This carving is now mounted on the A-frame back bar inside Max’s (see photo.)

In our Grand Rapids ceramic studio, Max’s has produced 200 mugs in this Avocado glaze color. Each mug is numbered on the bottom and includes a numbered certificate of authenticity.

More info about the Village Apartments:

Located in a surprisingly welcomed proximity just over 3200 feet from the North tarmac of the Los Angeles Airport, The Polynesian Village Apartment complex was the epitome of primitive, space-age bachelor pad living for 1962. Designed again by prolific mid-century architects, Armet & Davis, the immersive environment featured a stylishly themed atmosphere, complete with 24/7 flaming gas Tiki torches and cascading lava rock waterfalls. Made in a series of three sister developments across Los Angeles county, the dingbat cubist apartment structures were adorned with redwood carvings by the renowned sculptor team of Andres Bumatay and Richard Ellis. Astonishingly, no two figures are alike and the contemporary free form nature of these rescued artifacts endure as the quintessential definition of 'Tiki-Modern'."

This Pau Meli design was produced in three different glazes and quantities of each: Avocado & Orange (200), a Leopard glaze (100), and a Rainbow glaze (25).
