Kalua Room Tiki Mug

in 1 collection

The Kalua Room was located in the Hotel Windsor in downtown Seattle and opened in 1953. This mug is sculpted as a full standing Tiki. It has an oval shaped mouth with a triangular "fin" on each corner, lemon shaped eyes, hands folded in front of its chest, and a small rounded nose. These mugs apparently came in different glaze combinations, including mottled brown with white interior and a beige exterior version. Many consider this to have been the first tiki mug.
