This mug features a tiki with a pointed head. This is a classic design. The original Island Chief mug was made by Stella Bodey and Spurlin Ceramics in the early 1960s and used at the Islander in Los Angeles where it was used to serve the Husband Killer cocktail. Bauer resurrected many older lines and began re-issuing them with a variety of glaze colors, especially their fade glazes which graduate from one color at top to another color at bottom.
