Rob Roskopp was born in 1963, and hails from Detroit, Michigan. He embarked on his skateboarding journey at a young age, quickly rising to prominence as a professional skateboarder. Rob’s prominence really took off when his deck sponsor, Santa Cruz Skateboards released his pro-model: The Roskopp "Face" Deck. This iconic skateboard deck became one of the most recognizable and sought-after designs of the 1980s. The Roskopp Face Deck featured bold graphics and vibrant colorways, capturing the spirit of skate art during the mid to late 80s.
The design was first painted by Jim Phillips, who went on to paint many more designs. Eventually, Jim's son, Jimbo, joined in the family business as well with his own deck designs.
