Prototype Trader Vic's Kava Bowl - by Tepco
aka Non-Scalloped Trader Vic's Kava Bowl - by Tepco in 0 collections
The prototype Trader Vic's Kava bowls are very rare, each one is unique, and they feature top rims that draw back in with a non-scalloped edge that makes them look much more like traditional vases in shape.
Each features an intricate scene not unlike the old Trader Vic's menu artwork (men, women, palm trees, rum barrels).
First issue date of this bowl is uncertain, but the regular production version was in use as of 1944. For more information, see the September 4th, 1944 Life Magazine article on Trader Vic's featuring this bowl. There are a few early versions of this bowl and later Tiki Farm reproductions as well.
