Papua New Guinea Head Mug - Limited Test Glaze Edition - by Ocea Otica

This head bust mug is a traditional PNG design with cowrie shell eyes, a large broad nose, and an open mouth with squarish teeth. The head sits on a circular pedestal carved with PNG swirl designs.

This mug is approximately 10 1/4" tall and 5 1/2" wide at base, and holds approximately 15 1/2 oz.

The mold was damaged and Ocea Otica had plans to re-tool the mold and release more future mugs, but his initial release was 7 test pieces out of an intended 10 pieces -- all with different 1/1 glazing. Later releases after these test pieces do not appear to have happened, however.

Sold on eBay and a portion of the sales from these auctions was donated to a Papua New Guinea charity.
