Tiki Mugs
Haunted Mansion Gargoyle Mug - Second Edition - Teal Green - by Tim Wollweber - for Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar
in 21 collections
This teal green version with black wipe was created for Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar. Earlier versions include a deep orange for Trader Sam's and both a brown and a gray released exclusively to Club 33 members only.
Designed after the iconic Gargoyles seen in the Haunted Mansion attraction at DisneyLand, the mug has two battery operated torches designed by Grider.
From their advertising: "As the sun sets in New Orleans Square, creatures of the night emerge from the shadows. The mysterious 'Flying Foxes', known by the locals as the Souris-Chaude, haunt the trees of the Garden District. These delightfully dreaded creatures dart through the sky, driving the locals absolutely batty. Resting in the portrait gallery of a lonely old mansion, several strange stone Souris-Chaude Gargoyles light the way for visitors through deathly still air with their ever flickering candles."
Came with the "Disquieting Metamorphosis” cocktail by Skipper Melissa, featuring several ingredients, including pineapple juice, lime juice, passion fruit and simple syrups, El Dorado 8-Year Demerara Rum, Batavia Arrack, banana liqueur, and bitters.
Stay Puft Marshmallow Man - Brown Edition - by MONDO
aka Stay Puft Marshmallow Man Gloss Brown Variant in 0 collections
This mug is shaped like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man mascot from the film, Ghostbusters (1984). Mr. Stay Puft first appears as a picture logo on a prop package of marshmallows in Dana Barrett's apartment, on a graffiti advertisement on the building next to the Ghostbusters' HQ, and then in the climax of the film as the gigantic physical manifestation of the Sumerian deity Gozer. Subsequently, he has been incorporated into many other Ghostbusters media, including the animated series The Real Ghostbusters, comic books, a stage show, and video games. Mr. Stay Puft resembles the Michelin's Bibendum (also known as the "Michelin Man") and the Pillsbury Doughboy. Along with the Ghostbusters logo, the image of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man has become one of the most recognizable emblems of the franchise. This is the brown edition of the mug. There was also a regular edition mug featuring a blue-wiped glaze with red spot decorations, a Bone Variant, and an orange wipe Cross The Streams Variant (Limited to 150 from DesignerCon). The mug was designed by Joe Allard, sculpted by Tufan Sezer, and created with contributions from "Thor" Thordarson and the crew from Tiki Farm.
The Little Fiji Mermaid Mug - First Edition - by Shima Ceramics
aka Ariel Fiji Mermaid Mug - First Edition - by Shima Ceramics in 0 collections
This mug is a riff on Disney's Little Mermaid that crosses her with P.T. Barnum's Fiji Mermaid.
From Shima Ceramics:
"What if the Little Mermaid had lost her looks instead of her voice? The sea witch Ursula has cursed Ariel, turning her into a Fiji Mermaid. Will Prince Eric still fall in love with her?
With this mug I envisioned Ariel as P.T. Barnum's Fiji Mermaid.
She stands 10" tall and holds 16 oz of Fog Cutter or other boozy tropical concoction. It’s a two part mug, lid and base.
This mug will be a very Limited Edition; we are making only 100 mugs in this color. If demand is high we may make up to another 100 in other colors a few months down the line.
It was a blast and a challenge to hand-sculpt, and each one took many hours to glaze. They are made 100% from start to finish by Shima Ceramics in Port Costa, CA.
Pre-order. $195, FREE U.S. domestic shipping. Ships in about 2-4 weeks."
*NOTE: The Little Mermaid is a 1989 American animated musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The 28th Disney animated feature film, it is loosely based on the 1837 Danish fairy tale of the same name by Hans Christian Andersen. The film tells the story of a teenage mermaid princess named Ariel, who dreams of becoming human and falls in love with a human prince named Eric, which leads her to make a magic deal with the sea witch, Ursula, to become human and be with him.
**NOTE: The Fiji Mermaid, aka Feejee Mermaid, is completely unrelated to the Island of Fiji and its inhabitants. It was named so because it was said to have been caught near Fiji, when in fact it was constructed by Japanese fishermen who attached the upper half of a monkey to the lower half of a fish. It was acquired by P.T. Barnum and displayed in Barnum’s American Museum in 1842.

Secret Island First Anniversary Pele Mug - by Outl1n3 Island
in 1 collection
This classic standing Pele tiki mug with coffee bean shaped eyes and figure eight shaped grimace was created by Outline Island (David Outline) for Secret Island's First Year Anniversary celebrated at end of September 2022 - beginning of October 2022. The majority of mugs were delivered to the location on 10/23/2022 for Secret Island's Haunted Hulaween Marketplace event.
Glazed in red, and limited to only 100 pieces in total, these were sold on location with choice of a free Mai Tai or Pele's Fire cocktail with purchase.
As ceramicists know, red glaze can be difficult. These had to be fired with red glaze twice and many of them have some interesting fade/oxidation around the edges which adds a nice antiqued look.
There were some Artist Proof variants as well as a "Pele Mini Edition" with a spiky head-crest that could be removed.
