Classic Coconut Mug - for Tiki-Ko

This is a coconut shaped mug marked for the Tiki-Ko bar in Bakersfield, CA. Unlike the Wiki Wiki Tiki Farm coconut that preceded it, this mug is glazed in a darker brown and they have left off the motto. It simply reads: "Tiki-Ko Bakersfield" in white on the front.
From Tiki-Ko mug release night:
"Inspired by the classic souvenir mugs that you could grab from an old school neighborhood spot, we wanted something like that. Affordable and cool.
For our mug club family we’ve got a new drink, tonight only, 'The Copa Banana'. With Hamilton Black Pot Still Jamaican and Puerto Rican coconut infused rum, banana liqueur, orgeat, pineapple and lime juice, molé bitters.
Tonight, get a new drink in our new mug for just $20!"

This glass was manufactured for the Trader Vic's in Toronto. It is printed in red and shows a tiki head, the exterior of buildings, mountains, scenery, and skiing and skating figures. This glass is also one in a skyline series, including Vancouver, Munich, London, Tokyo, and Toronto. Each glass is a different color, includes a landscape with clouds in background, and is labeled for its location. The modern skyline series released in 2018 has black graphics for each location.

The Chi Chi opened in 1936 and ceased to be sometime in the 1960s, around 1968 or so. This dinner plate features the unauthorized art of Edgar Leeteg's Hina Rapa which was originally painted in oil on velvet, portraying a topless wahine wearing a straw hat. Burgundy graphics on white. Made by Wallace China in 1952. Measures 11.25" in diameter.

Ta Luau Teapot - by Jackson China

This is a standard restaurant-ware teapot made of white-glazed ceramic by Jackson China, and imprinted with the logo for the Ta Luau Restaurant in New York in black & burgundy -- with their mask logo which they took from the Luau 400 which preceded them. Issued in September 1967 (known by the date code of Q9 on bottom). This was part of a set with similarly marked teacups measuring 2 1/4" tall.
GWAR Mug Blue Wipe Glaze

This is a mug featuring a skull with eyepatch topped by a flying eyeball. It has a blue matte glaze with black wipe and some white details. This glaze edition was preceded by a black wipe glaze, a red wipe glaze, and a green wipe glaze.
GWAR is an American heavy metal band formed in Richmond, Virginia in 1984, composed of and operated by a frequently rotating line-up of musicians, artists and filmmakers collectively known as Slave Pit Inc. Easily identified by their distinctively grotesque costumes, Gwar's core thematic and visual concept revolves around an elaborate science fiction-themed mythology which portrays the band members as barbaric interplanetary warriors, a narrative which serves as the basis for all of the band's albums, videos, live shows and other media.

Dragon Mug - by Otagiri - for Dragon Lite Bar & Restaurant

This Otagiri dragon design was used by Joyce Chen and several others. This version is marked from the Dragon Lite restaurant in Hyannis, Massachusetts. Dragon Lite was started in 1963 by the same family that started Hu Ke Lau in Chicopee, Massachusetts and Dragon Lite is still in business as of 2024. However, the interior has obviously undergone extensive remodeling in the recent past and probably looks much different than it did in the 60s.

"As House of Tabu is a small, boutique producer of hand crafted mugs, we are releasing these in small batches with a planned edition of just 100 mugs. We produce our mugs in multiple short runs and inner glaze colors vary and are selected at random.
Our new Tiki Exotique Tiki mug is a vintage-styled drinking vessel glazed in a rustic brown with faint yellow highlights, all glazed by hand, making each mug unique. Comes with two House of Tabu swizzle sticks.
Tiki Exotique stands 8” tall and holds 16 ounces of your favorite beverage and was sculpted in-house by Ken Holewczynski."
