A true celebration of San Francisco’s greatest tiki icons, the Suffering Bob mug marries Trader Vic’s Suffering Bastard (aka Mai Tai Joe) with Bob Bryant and Alec Yuill-Thornton’s Tiki Bob. Monkey Cup by Van Tiki
in 14 collections
VanTiki's Description:
Take a deep draught from the Monkey Cup, adventurer - you have crossed many miles of jungle to get here, and this elixir is your reward!
Discovered deep within the rainforests of VanTiki Island, this ancient chalice sports the skull of an extinct and heretofore unknown monkey. When sipping from this ancient vessel, you are sure to note the curious rattle emanating from the simian cranium. Locals say the sound is the rustling spirits of those who drank too deeply from the chalice. Others posit that a small forest spirit has been trapped within the bone by a long dead kahuna. Adventurer, we leave it to you to find out the true source of the sound. I imagine it will take plenty of, ahem, intoxicating research.
The Monkey Cup stands 4.5 inches tall, and the upper bowl is 5.5 inches in diameter. It will hold just shy of 12 ounces of fluid. This musical mug has several ceramic beads cunningly tucked into the skull chamber, and emits a rattle when used. Made entirely by us, by hand, in our Eugene Oregon studio using only food safe glazes. Marked with the edition number on the base.
Monkey Cup - Super Limited Edition by Van Tiki

VanTiki's Description:
These ancient chalices are crafted from the skulls of an extinct and heretofore unknown monkey. Only 10 exist - handed down through generations of chiefs and high priests on VanTiki Island. Two have golden crowns, and one sports a gold tooth! Some say the skulls are cursed, while other posit they extend life - do you dare to learn the truth?
Each is numbered on the base (I’m keeping number 7).
Monkey Cup - Drunken Monkey Cup by Van Tiki
in 2 collections
VanTiki's Description:
Unlike this mug’s 249 siblings - number 230 may have had a bit too much grog. Or, in all honesty, perhaps it should be admitted that when the upper section of the mug was taken out of the mold a bit of a panicked near drop occurred. Please note - it was a NEAR DROP - not an ACTUAL DROP. Nonetheless, when I grabbed the falling bowl section, I may have squeezed it a bit in my panicked state. After some diligent re-shaping (while crying), we thought we had things straightened out - but in the glaze firing the wobble returned! I couldn’t bring myself to destroy the mug over a bit of a wibble wobble.
