This is a mug shaped like a native holding a Papua New Guinea styled Mask in front of their face with both hands.
The mask has an extended tongue and large concentric circle eyes.
This particular mask was popularized by Oceanic Arts, who based the design on the top portion of a Papua New Guinea spirit hook carving.
This mug is one in a series of mugs by Rob with natives (Menehunes) holding masks in front of their faces. These were glazed in a variety of color combinations.
