This Tiki mug is shaped like one of the two famous Tikis which guard the Puuhonua o Hōnaunau (Place of Refuge) at the Puuhonua national historic site. "Na Kaua E Pale" translates to "Who Guarded In The War." This one has has simpler details on the headdress and chin, compared to the second one of the pair whose headdress has heavy vertical lines/ridges and more lines on the chin. It also has a round base, whereas the other has a square base. This is the Kilauea Sunset Style which has gradations of red at bottom that gradually turn to yellow at top. The Tiki sits on a base covered in fat lava.
