This is a riff on the vintage "Peanut Lined Face Mug" or "Maori Lined Face Mug" originally put out by Otagiri back in the 60s and 70s.
It has the "Moko" (traditional Maori tattooing" on its face.
Glazed in Green.
It is one of three designs that were commissioned by Urban Bar and designed by John Mulder for their bar products company. The three mugs are intended to represent the Polynesian Triangle: Lono (Hawaii), Moko (New Zealand), Moai (Easter Island).
