This feathered skull is inspired by the ancient Mayan death whistles used to instill terror in enemies. Red with a black wipe glaze.
Intended to serve the Gato Exotico Margarita. Gato Exotico is the sister restaurant to Wusong Road, and also located in Cambridge.
Also promoting Espolòn Tequila on reverse. This must have been manufactured for Wusong Road, though, because Gato Exotico's menu lists Lunazul as the tequila they use for their margaritas and everything else apparently...but Wusong uses Espolòn. Also, the Gato Exotico margaritas were apparently too big for the mug, so they found a new recipe just for the mug:
Aztec Death Whistle: 1 oz Mezcal, 1 oz Ancho Reyes Chile Liqueur (regular, not verde), 1/2 oz Orange Liqueur (I used Bauchant for both) 1/2 oz Fernet Branca or Fernet Valle
Stir with ice and strain into the mug with ice. Garnish with orange oil or an orange twist.
