This mug was originally designed by Crazy Al Evans for the Kona Club in Oakland, CA. The mug has bamboo bundles down the side and a tapa pattern around the top and bottom. The back of the mug features a smouldering volcano on a hill overlooking a little hut and some palm trees. There is a surfer at the base of the mug. This version of the mug has an unglazed exterior and Al mentioned on Facebook that: "Kona Club thinking Tiki Farm was too expensive, went with a dealer at a Vegas trade show… The first thousand were made without a glaze approval… They sucked and were refused... Those 1000 ended up all over Vegas and In all kinds of places… Off creamy yellow glaze. With purple Pastel painted Details on tapa and rope."
