The Duncan pig-shaped mold with tribal designs on sides was used for a variety of purposes, including this bowl. Some were created with a number of small holes for toothpicks in order to use the bowl as an h'ordeuvre server. Some were sealed almost entirely and used as piggy-banks. Some were made with the otherwise open snout corked or sealed (plug seal is part of two-piece mold) and used as drinking vessels. It was made from a Duncan Hobbyist mold (circa 1969).
