This is a mug shaped like the head of a hula girl with large hibiscus flower tucked above her right ear. The wahine head mold by Holland Molds has has also been used since the 1960s to make plaster heads/busts which were then painted in similar fashion to the more expensive Marwal heads/busts. These measure just short of 9 inches tall but there is some variation due to type of ceramic slip or plaster used and firing/drying rates. This mug version is available in different glaze combinations, including a black glaze and a white glaze.
