This bamboo-like tumbler is from Don the Beachcomber in Hollywood. It has a matte beige colored front except for the top third which is gloss red to match the interior. Speculation by some is that Don decided to have the tops glazed in red so that it would hide the marks of womens' lipstick, hence the "Lipstick Mug" moniker. The bottom is marked "Vermonde". A similar vessel is pictured on the Tonga Lei menu to serve the "Malibu Calls" although it does not appear to have markings on front. The Tonga Lei became a Don the Beachcomber for a time and they both appear to have used the Vermonde manufactured Cobra's Fang Mug as well.
