This is a mug shaped like a bust of the Creature from the Black Lagoon wearing a commodore's uniform and a monocle in one eye.
Measures 7.5" tall, 4.5" wide, 4" deep and holds about 16 oz.
Leonard Chan of Stowaway and Lost Inferno fame opened this pop-up bar, “The Lagoon”, located in Long Beach, CA at the Midnight Oil space.
The Lagoon is a hidden, tiki-esque and bayou-themed speakeasy room tucked behind a door marked with a wooden mask. It seats a small group and serves specialized craft cocktails.
The Lagoon opened in 2025 alongside other pop-up concepts at the same venue. The Lagoon was explicitly designed to give the owners the flexibility to flip the theme and cocktail menus throughout the year. It frequently shifts between a Creature from the Black Lagoon tropical-tiki aesthetic and its predecessor concept, Roadkill (a trailer park tropical getaway).
