Opened in the early 60s, at least as early as 1962.

Located in the basement of the Manchester Unity Building at 220 Collins Street in Melbourne, at the corner of Collins and Swanston Streets.

Waitresses wore hula girl outfits or hibiscus print pink and yellow muu-muus.

As seen in the photos, they had oversized palms in the dining area, some carvings and masks, dioramas, and many fish tanks between booths.

Their tag line was "Dine with the crocodiles!" and they also had a small crocodile pond. When a water pipe burst in 1967, Charlie and Clarise (the two crocodiles) had to be temporarily removed because the plumber refused to work with them.

The cashier's station was shaped like a giant cannibal pot on top of a fire-lay of logs.

Lasted into the 1970s...
