Tiki Haven is a tiki bar in the Inner Sunset neighborhood of San Francisco. The decor is beachy-tiki with mainly mass-market tikis and lauhala matting, and there are about a half-dozen glaring video screens throughout the space.
They do serve drinks in tiki mugs and have a small menu of classics and signature cocktails.
Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar

Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar finally answers the question we've all been asking ourselves: what would it be like if the Enchanted Tiki Room actually served alcohol?
Trader Sam's is named for the "head" salesman from the Jungle Cruise ride at Disneyland, and the decor is a mix of influence from that ride and the Enchanted Tiki Room, with a little of Walt Disney World's Adventurer's Club thrown in for good measure. Top-notch Disney designers Kevin Kidney and Jody Daily were able to work on some of the decor. The bar is utterly packed with entertaining bric-a-brac and artifacts from "Sam's" archives. The music is a pitch-perfect mix of Exotica, hapa haole and traditional Hawaiian tunes.
The servers have been given the same training as the skippers on the Jungle Cruise, and keep the atmosphere lively, silly, and very friendly. The bar has lots of surprises and interactive elements, some triggered by ordering particular drinks.
The quality of drink ingredients is higher than one might expect, with fresh-squeezed citrus and syrups from Portland's B. G. Reynolds in use. The alcohol content of the drinks tends to be a little light -- keep in mind, they want their guests to continue to enjoy their vacation the next day. Let your server know you're looking for something more in the vein of classic tiki, and they'll steer you in the right direction. If you like the punny performance given by the Jungle Cruise skippers, you'll love the drink names: "HippopotoMaiTai", "Schweitzer Falls" and "Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Rum" are some of the cleverly-named cocktails.
Kids are welcome at Trader Sam's, as long as they don't sit at the actual bar; there are several tables around the room where kids can sit. There is also an outdoor patio, where Hawaiian musicians perform nightly.
There is a small menu of pupus available. The bar is near a casual dining tropical restaurant that opened at the same time, called Tangaroa Terrace.
In 2015, a sister location opened at Walt Disney World in Orlando: Trader Sam's Grog Grotto.
Tangaroa Terrace

Tangaroa Terrace is a casual dining restaurant at the Disneyland Hotel, with a name inspired by the Tahitian Terrace and Enchanted Tiki Room in Disneyland. It opened in May 2011. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and is near the more elaborately-themed Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar. The offerings have island flavors, including a papaya slaw and a pineapple-teriyaki burger. Made-to-order meals are ordered via a video kiosk, and there are also some grab-and-go options. There are some tables indoors, but most of the seating is on an outdoor patio. Exotica and traditional Hawaiian tunes are played.
Kokomo Tikibar & Room - Helsinki

Kokomo Tikibar & Room opened in February 2011 in the Punavuori neighborhood of Helsinki. They had many karaoke nights, and later at night it become a DJ nightclub. The decor included bamboo and carved war clubs and masks, with some large carved tikis, but with stark white chairs and a white-and-black checkerboard floor. On Saturdays daytime brunch was served from noon to 2:30pm.
Closed January 20th, 2018.
There was also a sister bar, the Kokomo Tikibar in Lahti, but it closed in January 2015.
Freaky Boutiki

Freaky Boutiki started out in 1999 as the Freak Factory, selling a mix of original art, retro items, surf stuff and midcentury pieces. After a fire in 2006, owner "Hodad" Hank Adelson transformed it into Freaky Boutiki, with a stronger emphasis on all things Polynesian Pop.
The store billed itself as a "coastal curiosity shoppe" and had a great mix of items: art by modern tiki artists, Oceanic art pieces, nautical knick-knacks, tiki mugs, aloha wear, carvings, and more. Freaky Tiki had work by many well-beloved tiki artists, including Ken Ruzic, Heather Watts, Derek Yaniger, Doug Horne, Sam Gambino, Squid (especially his Acme Bakeware line), Tiki Tony, Shag and more.
In July 2016, Adelson sold the store to a new owner. It now operates under the name "Boutiki" but does not retain the Polynesian Pop focus of its predecessor.
Tiki King's Ukuleles of Felton

Ukuleles of Felton was the retail presence for Tiki King (Pat Baron), who has long been a purveyor of fine, hand-crafted tiki tchotchkes and a friend to ukulele players everywhere. It opened in Felton in November 2010.
The focus of the store was on ukuleles. From beginning Flea ukuleles all the way up to high-end fine ukes.
There were also plenty of King's famous tiki necklaces and keychains, and tiki mugs and other small tiki items, too.
Closed June 24th, 2018.
Trader Vic's - Pearl District - Portland

This Trader Vic's location opened in Portland in June 2011. There was a Trader Vic's in Portland from the '50s through the '90s in the Benson Hotel, just a short distance south of this new location.
In early March 2016, a small fire in the medical offices above caused some minor damage to a small patch of the ceiling. Though the repairs were to be covered by insurance, the owners of the location opted to close the restaurant entirely.
One of the two large exterior tikis that used to flank the entrance to the Portland Trader Vic's before it closed (around 8' tall with large lips, a small nose, and concentric Tangaroan-style eyes) now resides in a Dubai Trader Vic's.
Okolemaluna Tiki Lounge

Okolemaluna Tiki Lounge opened in November 2010, and closed in September 2012. (Okole maluna is Hawaiian for "bottoms up"; the Hawaiian "cheers".) Owners Brice and Lisa Ginardi put the focus solidly on the quality of the cocktails, serving classic tiki recipes made with locally-sourced fresh ingredients. As any cocktail lover who has visited Hawaii can tell you, this was a huge boon, a respite from the over-sweet, over-chemical drinks found everywhere in the islands. Okolemaluna's menu had about twenty cocktails, a mix of historic tiki cocktails from the great Polynesian palaces, and some new creations. The menu also had a small selection of pupus.
If you finished the entire drink menu, you could join the Okolemaluna Mug Club: you got your own custom mug kept on a special shelf behind the bar.
Beyond the drinks, Okolemaluna also sought to set a historic tone with the environment. The music was a mix of vintage and modern Exotica, and the space was filled with bamboo and lauhala matting. There was a lava rock waterfall, and some decor from defunct tiki bars.
Kalyra by the Sea

Kalyra by the Sea was a tasting room for Kalyra Winery located in Santa Barbara.
The owners are from Australia, and the theme for their tasting room drifted from there into Polynesia. The room was decorated in the style of a full-on tiki hut, with bamboo, thatching, tiki masks and carved tikis, war clubs on the wall, and rattan and tapa lights.
The winery based in Santa Ynez lives on, but this Santa Barbara tasting room closed at the end of 2016.
The Hurricane Club

The Hurricane Club was a modern, high-end restaurant and bar in Flatiron district of Manhattan. Its name hearkened back to the famous 1940s era New York tropical nightclub.
It was opened in 2010 by Fourth Wall Restaurants. The restaurant's decor felt expensive, and looked like a sort of mix between a plantation dreamscape and an upscale place for businessmen in suits to hash out business deals. It did not look or feel like a tiki bar, and it wasn't trying to.
It was clear that a lot of money went into opening this restaurant, right down to the gold Hurricane Club logo woven right into the linen napkins. The club offered free shoeshines along with a purchase of rum.
And yet amid all this refinement, there were a few odd intrusions of bizarre tiki kitsch. There were several bowling shirt-wearing, acne-riddled, fez-topped, cheesy-grinning tikis on the bar, in the form of lowbrow Tiki Farm decanters.
The confusion extended to the drink menu: the menu made an explicit nod to tiki history, pointing out that tiki bars often break down their drinks into light, medium and strong drinks. The drinks were good, and were served in some rather nice mugs, including a rare mug by Bosko. And yet the execution felt stiff: the drinks didn't have names, just numbers. The three "tiki style" drinks on the menu were not any more or less "tiki" than any of the other drinks on the menu.
The Hurricane Club was "re-branded" in the summer of 2013, becoming Hurricane Steak & Sushi. It lived on briefly in that incarnation before closing for good.
Three Dots and a Dash

Three Dots and a Dash was the creation of star bartender Paul McGee, in partnership with Lettuce Entertain You, a Chicago area restaurant group. The bar is named for the classic Don the Beachcomber drink, itself a WWII call for victory using the Morse code for "V." The focus at Three Dots and a Dash is on cocktails, but it also delivers on the special Polynesian Pop details we've come to expect... most notably on the beautifully detailed souvenir mugs. There is a small menu of food, including a flaming Pu-Pu Platter.
In November 2014, Paul McGee left Three Dots and a Dash, and in January 2015 opened Lost Lake (However, Lost Lake is closed since January 2022).
The Three Dots and a Dash space is divided up into several sections, including The Bamboo Room (an exclusive 22-seat bar-within-a-bar opened in 2019). Led by Beverage Director Kevin Beary, The Bamboo Room was recognized as one of Esquire’s “Best Bars in America” in 2022. An ode to rum and rhum agricoles, the menu is composed of refined and focused rum drinks presented across multiple cocktail styles. Separate menu shown below...
Lani Kai

Lani Kai was a Hawaiian-inspired (but not tiki) restaurant and bar in lower Manhattan. It was opened in 2010 by Julie Reiner, who grew up in Hawaii and has been behind several high-end cocktail spots in Manhattan including Pegu Club, Flatiron Lounge and Clover Club. While Reiner made it clear that Lani Kai was not intended to be a tiki bar, she and her staff knew traditional tropical cocktails inside-out, and executed them perfectly.
The space was dimly lit, mainly by candles... no beachcomber lamps here. The seating and tables were sleek and streamlined, and the rooms had lots of green plants. The feel of the spot was that of a modern, high-end spa in a Hawaiian resort. The upper level had restaurant seating and a small bar, and the lower level had a spacious bar area with a fireplace.
Lani Kai closed abruptly in the early fall of 2012.
