Moscow Mule Swizzle

This frosted clear swizzle has an upper half shaped like a mule's head and neck. The bottom half is shaped like a mule's foot. It measures almost 4.5" long and is marked "Moscow Mule" on the side. These were first issued @1960s-70s but Royer has since re-issued the same design.

A Moscow Mule is a cocktail made with vodka, ginger beer and lime juice, garnished with a slice or wedge of lime and a sprig of mint. The drink is a type of buck and is sometimes called a vodka buck. The Moscow mule is popularly served in a copper mug, which takes on the cold temperature of the liquid.

Some believe a Hawaiian variant is the Molokai Mule, for which they simply swap out vodka for rum in the basic mule recipe. However the true Molokai Mule cocktail was developed for Steve Crane's Kon Tiki Restaurants and is a completely different cocktail without any ginger beer and with different ingredients. Despite this, the swizzle does look good poking out of a vintage Daga Molokai Mule mug as well as a copper mug.
