James Sadler and Sons Ltd is the world famous pottery manufacturer originally founded in 1882 in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire in England. Sadler started with their famous red clay fine earthenware teapots with a dark brown glaze. They went on to become one of the most well known pottery manufacturers in the world. They produced numerous designs and items ranging from teapots and mugs to tea accessories. However, in 1999 the product line was cut from 850 to just 340 and some production was outsourced overseas. In April 2000 the company went into receivership and Churchill China purchased the right to use the company's brand name and designs.
