Geoffrey Maund started his pottery at the beginning of the 1950s and his hand-signed items are from the 1950s. The stamped items, like the cleaned-up version of the ink logo shown here are later from the 1960s, but many pieces have a difficult to read ink stamp. Maund was famous for hand-painted, often personalized 1950s earthenware—including iconic blue and white mugs and pigs with whimsical, painted phrases—the brand was revived in the 2020s to continue this traditional legacy.
For tikiphiles, Maund is most famous for producing several pieces for the Beachcomber at the Mayfair Hotel in London, including mugs and salt & pepper shakers.
