Carrie Anne Hudson is a San Diego–based visual artist and illustrator whose work blends dark surrealism with playful nostalgia, drawing from classic horror, vintage cartoons, pop culture, and the macabre. Working primarily in acrylic and ink, she creates narrative-driven imagery infused with humor, melancholy, and magic. Her signature Hallowtiki™ series - an inventive fusion of Halloween aesthetics and tiki culture - debuted in 2019 and quickly became a defining part of her artistic identity, earning widespread recognition from collectors and fans.
Hudson studied art at San Diego State University and has since exhibited her work nationally at galleries including Spoke Art, Gallery1988, and Hero Complex Gallery. Her work has also been featured in various art magazines and in Alien: 40 Years 40 Artists (Titan Books). Career highlights include an artist residency in Transylvania, a San Diego Art Prize nomination, and her first solo exhibition, Haunted (2019). Through galleries, conventions, and her online shop, Hudson continues to share story-rich, emotionally resonant work that invites viewers into a world that is spooky, heartfelt, and slightly off-center.
