Groovy Greg Mug - Full Color Edition - by Tiki Maniacs
in 7 collections
This is a mug shaped like the character of Greg Brady from The Brady Bunch television show -- wearing trunks and a Tabu Tiki necklace.
Stylistically, it looks like it would fit in nicely alongside the earlier "Hawaiian Idol" series put out by Tiki Farm (also sculpted by Squid) that included Magnum P.I. from the television series of the same name, the famous Hawaiian Singer Don Ho, Elvis with white collar and lei like he wore during his Hawaiian concerts, and Steve McGarrett from the TV series Hawaii 5-O.
From Tiki Maniacs:
"This tiki mug fan art tribute was inspired by one of our favorite 1969 to 1974 TV show characters as portrayed by teen idol actor and singer Barry Williams. 'Groovy Greg' commemorates Barry William's 1972 trip to an idealized Hawaii that introduced a new generation to the wonders of tiki culture. Barry officially authorized this mug in his likeness which was expertly sculpted by Dave 'Squid' Cohen in a whimsical style reminiscent of the 1970's United Airlines Menehune Advertising Figures.
Mugs include one custom made 10.5 inch tall x 1.5 inch wide surfboard shaped swizzle stick in Blue Hawaiian or Bananarama Yellow (colors are randomly inserted). These were hand crafted in the USA from high grade food safe 1/8 inch thick acrylic and non-toxic food safe paint. Perfect to accessorize your Groovy Greg Mug or any drinking vessel in your collection! Also includes a 5x7 postcard print featuring the Barry Williams approved image that inspired the mug plus an exclusive Groovy Greg cocktail recipe by renown mixologist Kelly 'Old Man' Merrell!
Mugs are 9.5 inches tall and hold 28 ounces of liquid.
This is a limited edition of 375 mugs."
This edition was issued for $100 but for an additional fee, Barry signed these mugs as well.
A second edition in gold was issued. Additionally, artist Weena Bee put out a Kustom/Embellished Zombie Version of this mug, painted by her in blue acrylic, with a distended right eyeball.
