On the lower scroll, we are reminded of vessels present and past being at the mercy of the perilous seas and note such with the scroll emblazoned with HOLD FAST, a term popularized through the years into our modern era, tattoo-friendly culture as a statement of strength, fortitude and the power of the human will.
