This swizzle was issued from Alice's Restaurant at the Cinerama Reef Hotel. Alice's was a discotheque featuring "Mad mod music, dancing, and a light show." The name was very topical since Arlo Guthrie's song of the same name came out in 1967 and the film of the same name by Arthur Penn came out in 1969 when they opened the discotheque.

The Reef, Reef Towers and Edgewater hotels were sold to the Cinerama movie company in 1969 but Roy Kelley re-purchased the hotels from Cinerama in 1982 to re-integrate them back into the Outrigger chain.
