Tiki Mug Design

The Collector - by Eekum Bookum - for The Reef

in 2 collections

This is a mug shaped like a full standing tiki with a rootball top, open mouth lined with teeth, small pushed-up nose, red almond-shaped eyes, and tattoos on forehead. It was manufactured by Eekum Bookum, and though it is inspired by one of the original Caliente Tropics Tikis — a Tiki which still stands on the grounds of the hotel today — that was carved in the 1960’s by Ed Crissman, this is definitely an original work with lots of John Mulder's special touches, including a separate skull ("the collection piece") which rotates freely on a small dowel held between the tiki's hands.
