Distinguishing Characteristics

These are called "Totem Cups" in the Duncan catalog, DM288 (not to be confused with their "Aztec" Totem cups, DM207A). Though the ad advises you can create your own "Paradise Isle" with them. It seems Duncan was hedging its bets with a "totem" cup also being interpreted as Tiki.

Hobbyist Duncan Home Stackable Maori Totem Cups

aka Homemade Duncan Tiki Mug, DM-288 in 31 collections

Duncan Home Ceramics made kits for making these tiki mugs at home. Several designs, all with a slightly narrower base than body, to allow for stacking. This version has Maori style faces on each side. They were marketed in the Duncan catalog as "Totem Cups".
