This translucent golden slab promises "the necromancy and mysterious rites of the eerie Haitian cult that has stirred imagination for hundreds of years", but "with the caressing quality of the Caribbean". 12 tracks wander across some hazy Californian version of "Polynesia" circa 1959. One sentence review: mostly pleasing background fluff with wordless female sounds floating airily over upbeat arrangements... appropriate for a late cocktail hour (Zombies, anyone?) if not actual down and dirty voodoo badassery.
