These heavier "Tiki God" bookends (or two statues that could be used as bookends) were made by HIP in 1973. The front of the base is marked "HAWAII" and the bottom is marked "Made In Hawaii a HIP Original" and "1973".
These appear to be made of a lava and resin mix. A very similar version was made in brown as well, possibly in 1974, and the tag on that one notes this statue represents Ku.
My lava version has a ghostly tag image on the back that MAY say "Tiki 801".
