This 6 1/8" tall statue is made of carved monkeypod wood and sports a glossy shellac. The word Hawaii appears on the front of the thick base.

For this modern/common carving, the word Hawaii often appears on the front of the thick base, but larger versions often bear an engraved brass plaque on the front of the base for "awards" information.

These statues are still produced in the Philippines by various makers in a variety of finishes and sizes. This one's hangtag reads "Ku Tiki God of Strength", and also "Island Woods", "Handcrafted Woods From The Pacific" and "I I C Hawaii PO Box 2037 Honolulu Hawaii 96805"
