This small cup or votive holder appears to be modeled on a 19th century Ivi po'o from the Marquesan islands. Ivi po'o are small bone cylinders, typically from the Marquesas Islands, used as personal adornments or toggles, often featuring carved human forms known as tiki ivi po'o, which are believed to represent ancestral deities.
Possibly a hobbyist or tourist piece, this shallow cup is heavy and made of packed sand or perhaps a high-sand concrete mix. The bottom is flat and unmarked. It stands just over 3.5 inches tall and holds approximately 3.5 ounces of liquid
