This is a "Divided Hapa Wood Dish" by Coco Joe's. The tag on the bottom describes it also as a nut or candy dish, catalog #HW158.
This 2 section version measures approximately 9" x 7" x 2" and is a medium brown hapa wood resin mix typical of CocoJoe's work. It is molded in such a way as to represent a carved tree, or perhaps a root burl.
Several similar versions exist:
HW135 - "Hawaiian Hapa Wood Nut Tray" is a small dish with the word HAWAII in raised letters in the center - this version came packaged with a white plastic orchid and an oval gold foiled sticker marked Made In Hawaii Association.
HW157 - A small nut dish (1 section) without raised letters, much like HW158.
HW160 - "Hapa Wood 3-Way Server", a large 3-sectioned dish with a raised hole in the center.
