I found this orginally associated with an unusual coconut mug. Both of these items have the name "Akua Kai" associated with them. This stemmed glass seems to depict a Marquesan tiki. The glaze appears to be yellowish-green with a light blue accent glaze that could have been associated with a second firing. I was told that this was an experimental glaze and that most of these glasses, when located, are associated with a medium-dark glossy green glaze. This guy is too cute and anatomically correct. An outrigger canoe is depicted in raised relief on the back of the tiki.

Akua Kai Marquesan Stemmed Martini Glass Prototype

in 2 collections

This is a martini glass with a Marquesan Tiki for its stem. An outrigger canoe is depicted in raised relief on the back of the Tiki. The glass was designed by Swamp Tiki & made by Bourbon Tiki in anticipation of the opening of the Aku Kai in 2007, but the bar's opening was indefinitely delayed. Despite this, several of these glasses have been spotted. The green stems vary in color. Some are darker, and some are much lighter.
