This is a mug design based on Tangaroa-Ru, the Goddess of the East Wind. It is said that her gentle breeze on a tropic isle makes flowers sing and Tikis smile and casts a spell on flying birds whose joyous songs speak wisdom words. The mug is shaped like a large tiki head mug with puckered lips (blowing). Squinting coffee bean shaped eyes. Has a stylized bird pictogram on reverse. Design by Jody Daily & Kevin Kidney. This version is in a glossy light brown wipe-away glaze. Made of stoneware. This is an open edition. Tag and catalogue refers to this as a "Rongo Tiki Mug".
