Road trip maniac, music fanatic, collector & Western US history buff. Grew up in Southern California, living in Minnesota since 1999. Lifelong fanatic of obscure & intense music, road trips, abandoned places, and Las Vegas/ Nevada history.
I'm the founder of Project: Viva Lost Vegas, which is a charity-supporting historical preservation endeavor. Our focus is on the stories of all who have lived, worked, gambled & vacationed in Vegas & Greater Nevada during the "golden eras". In my mind, "golden era" can apply to pretty much everything leading up to the mid-1990s.
For me, one of the most fascinating aspects of Mid-Century USA is the whole Polynesian/ Exotica/ Tiki craze, (including all of that incredible music) and my growing mug collection definitely reflects that in a distinctly Las Vegas/ Nevada-centric sort of way. I'm also hoping to build a swank Tiki Bar in the basement of my recently-purchased home at some point in the near future.
