CATT 2015 Mug

aka Chicago Area Tiki Tour 2015 Mug in 9 collections

This is a Tiki head mug inspired by the St. Louis Mainlander Mug, which in turn takes its design from the very stylized head of a Tiki fountain designed by William Westenhaver and sold through his Witco company. The mug has cold painted eyes and tongue. It differs from the St. Louis Mainlander mug in that it has a palm bark texture reminiscent of Tiki Bob mugs and the eyes are blue, not green. The mug was produced for the Chicago Area Tiki Tour (CATT) on April 24th-26th, 2015. It was a bus tour of Chicago Tiki venues, including Hala Kahiki, Chef Shangri-la, The Tiki Terrace, Three Dots & A Dash, and Lost Lake. Sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Moai. In addition to the regular edition of 50, there were also two artist proofs in a dark green glaze (without cold paint) that were sold at the silent benefit auction.
