Kihei Pineapple Chalice
aka. Kihei Pineapple Goblet
I asked Scott to make a version of this mug with the tiki upside-down on the pineapple so that the pineapple could be displayed the 'right way' up when sitting on the shelf, and this is the result. My idea also was to be able to drink out of both sides of it and it wasn't until later that both of us realized how hard it was going to be to glaze as there was no way to be able to sit it on a kiln shelf without the mug sticking to it. He ended up being able to fire it on stilts laying on its side, which worked perfectly, however the glaze used on the tiki ran which caused the large 'drip' on the back. The only way to fix that would be to try and grind it off but as it is on the back and can't be seen i'm just going to leave it the way it is.

aka Kihei Pineapple Goblet in 2 collections
A pineapple chalice with a Ku Tiki head stem. The Ku Tiki head has squinted coffee bean eyes and an open figure eight shaped mouth. It is inspired by a wooden Tiki that has been in the marketplace for decades where Beachbumz has their shop.
