The Rincon Room Home Bar Tiki Mug - Second Edition - Black

in 5 collections

This is a tall mug shaped like a Lono tiki with tall headdress and marked "The Rincon Room" on reverse. Glazed in black and limited to 30 pieces. The original tiki it is based on was made by Oceanic Arts for a restaurant near the Warehouse in Marina Del Rey and it's been outside Ron Ferrell's (Bongo Fury's) home bar, The Rincon Room, for several years now.

There is also an edition in shades of brown with white teeth and some red highlighting -- limited to 100 pieces.

From Bongo Fury (Ron Ferrel) on Instagram:

"Just in! The Rincon Room mugs are back for a hot minute. Based on the Oceanic Arts Tiki in front of our home bar as seen in the following books- Smuggler’s Cove by Martin and Rebecca Cate, The Home Bar Guide to Tropical Cocktails by Kelly Reilly and Tom Morgan, and The Art of Tiki by Sven Kirsten and Otto von Stroheim. Hand glazed by our friends at Eekum Bookum.

There can be slight variations in glaze colors making each one unique. The molds are destroyed so these are the last few. There were 100 of the mug on the left (first edition in brown) plus these last 12 in a matte finish holds 32oz and is 9 3/4” tall. $100.

The faded black (second edition) on the right is very limited to 30, holds about 28oz also 9 3/4” tall. These are the last 9 and are $150. Message to order. Aloha!"
