Waikiki Outrigger Hotel John Rowles Mai Tai Glass

aka Waikiki Outrigger Hotel John Rowles Old Fashioned Glass, Waikiki Outrigger Hotel John Rowles Loball Glass, Waikiki Outrigger Hotel John Rowles Double Rocks Glass in 1 collection

This mai tai glass was used at the Outrigger Hotel in Waikiki. The company was founded by Roy and Estelle Kelley who opened their first hotel in 1947. The company's first hotel to carry the Outrigger name was the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach, which opened in 1967. John Edward Rowles (born 26 March 1947) is a New Zealand singer. He was most popular in the 1970s and early 1980s, and best known in New Zealand for his song, "Cheryl Moana Marie", which he had written about his younger sister. Rowles was born in Whakatane, New Zealand, and is part Māori. Rowles is best known in New Zealand and Australia, though he has also performed in the United States, particularly Las Vegas, Nevada and Hawaii. This glass was most likely issued in the early 70s, as his first Waikiki Outrigger Hotel concert poster is dated 1972. The glass is heat printed in blue and has a photo of John Rowles on one side, with signature. It reads: "The Waikiki Outrigger Hotel Waikiki Beach, Hawaii: Home of the John Rowles Show: Kia Ora!" on the other side.
